Design before treatment.

The cheapest acoustic control is the one you never have to build. Before we specify a wall, we ask whether a different layout, orientation or placement would have removed the problem in the first place.

There is almost always a simpler answer than the obvious one. We look for it before reaching for more concrete — the goal is the most effective control, rarely the largest.
