Overview

Mechanical plant is one of the most common sources of noise complaints, because it often runs continuously, close to neighbours, for the life of the building. We assess plant noise early, ideally before equipment is ordered, so attenuation is designed in rather than retrofitted.

Who this is for

Developers, building services engineers and operators specifying or troubleshooting air-conditioning, kitchen exhaust, cooling towers or rooftop plant.

When it is required

Typically required as part of a development approval condition, or after a neighbour complaint about an existing installation.

Our approach

We work from manufacturer sound power data at design stage wherever possible, then verify with site measurement once plant is installed, catching problems before commissioning, not after.

What you’ll receive

  • Plant noise modelling at design stage
  • Attenuator and equipment selection advice
  • Post-installation verification measurement
  • A compliance report for your certifier or council

Talk to us

Send the brief, the drawings, or just the problem — we will come back with a clear, fixed-scope proposal.
