Overview
Most developments and operating premises are required to demonstrate that the noise they generate, from plant, patrons, deliveries or general activity, stays within the levels set for the surrounding area. An environmental noise assessment measures the existing acoustic environment, models the proposed or existing sources, and compares the predicted result against the applicable regulations.
We handle this end-to-end: site measurement, noise modelling, and a report written for the approval or compliance process it needs to support.
Who this is for
Property owners, developers and operators whose council, EPA or planning authority has requested evidence that noise will comply with, or already complies with, the assigned or permitted levels for the site.
When it is required
Typically requested as a condition of development approval, a change-of-use application, an operating licence renewal, or in response to a noise complaint about an existing premises.
Our approach
We start with attended or unattended monitoring to establish the real background noise, then model every relevant source individually rather than relying on generic assumptions. Where a result is marginal, we look for the most practical design or operational change before recommending built treatment.
What you’ll receive
- Baseline and source-specific noise measurement
- Detailed acoustic modelling against the applicable regulations
- A clear, council-ready compliance report
- Practical recommendations where treatment is required
